Minister: Russian-African high-tech turnover to exceed arms exports
SOCHI, Oct 24 (PRIME) -- A high-tech turnover of Russia and Africa in the mid-term could exceed exports of Russian arms, Russian Digital Development Minister Konstantin Noskov said late on Wednesday at the Russia-Africa Economic Forum.
“We’ve certainly cleared a barrier in our cooperation today. We started dialogue, which is the key to success. I think we have very good prospects, and we’ll be certainly able to raise the turnover in the high-tech industry in the mid-term to exceed exports of Russian arms. I think it’s the minimum we have to set,” Noskov said.
The ministry’s people held a number of bilateral meetings and discussed developments in the e-government and the smart city.
Noskov also said Russia “enjoys high authority” in cybersecurity and “we’re ready to offer these solutions to our partners.”
The ministry can support local IT companies willing to enter the African markets and Africans in search of partners and products in Russia, Noskov said.
